What would the West Coast and Bohuslän be without seafood? Between the fishing harbor in Grebbestad and the ocean as our nearest neighbor, we have access to the freshest ingredients from the sea. As usual, we tempt with our famous seafood buffet, where all the fruits of the sea intermingle with scrumptious side dishes on a magnificent buffet table. We pile the table high with crayfish, shrimp, clams, crabs, and other goodies.

Want to learn more about the saltiest and perhaps the most unique of our seafood? Come to the “oyster school” and discover the tastes of Grebbestad’s specialty. On several occasions during the fall and spring we book trips to the Oyster Academy. For dates and times, ask the hotel reception!
Grebbestad’s oyster “Ostrea edulis”
When the “oyster school” is underway, connoissseurs from the Oyster Academy in Grebbestand are on-site to teach.
Our oysters are hand-picked from oyster beds in Bohuslän. We buy the majority of our oysters from the Klemming Brothers, who harvest the wild oysters by diving to hand-pick them, followed by cleaning, sorting, packing and delivery (no cultivation).
All work is done by hand next to the sea outside Grebbestad. The older, larger oysters go to market in order to make room for the younger ones. An oyster takes at least six years to reach the proper size and achieve the best ranking. They grow in our clean, cold seawater, which gives them the finest quality and taste in the world.
