Vitlycke Museum

Vitlycke Museum and Tanum’s World Heritage Site

A visit to the Vitlycke museum is to travel 3000 years back in time. Through live exhibitions and unique environments you get a fantastic insight into the everyday life of the Bronze Age. A given attraction is the thousands of rock carvings that are also on UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

Vitlycke Museum is a knowledge and experience center in Tanum’s World Heritage site – an area with about 600 rock carving sites. Here you can go with a guide, or walk freely between the pours and interpret the unique carvings. At the museum you will find a cafe, shop and an exhibition that is a dramatic story for the whole family.
The museum is open:
Easter and weekends in April: 10:00 – 16:00
May – Aug: 10am – 6pm daily
Sept – Nov 4: 10am – 4pm every day

For the rest of the year you can visit the world heritage site with rock carvings on your own.
